miceail's misadventures

How many roads must a man walk down, before you call him a man? How many seas must the white dove sail, before she sleeps in the sand? The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind

media day

yesterday we had our first media event at our sponsors place. we had promo photos taken and some interview and background stuff from the local papers. In the next couple weeks we also have stuff to do for our media guide for the season which i don't think comes out till nearer to xmas. Sam and I were joking around practicing our athlete cliches "giving 110%", "taking it one day at a time", "doing whatever it takes to win" ect, ect. it was straight outta the movie bull durham. i'm getting a lil worried about the injury bug. two guys from the team are lost for the season, needing knee surgeries(knock on wood). It looks like jay isn't gonna be able to sign with us (long story) which is too bad cuz we got along real well. He's gonna be playing in galway for another team 2 hrs away so we'll still chill here and there. we're bringing in a 6'10" brit and a 6'6" dude from atlanta later in the week as the possible replacements. i like having some size on the team because i'm too pretty to be banging with the big uglies. i gotta admit it gets pretty boring because i have so much downtime and no playstation or dvd player yet, just irish cable. the type of humor on shows here is hard to understand because so much is references to sayings and traits that i don't really catch on to yet having not lived here for any period of time. its kinda like seinfeld-type humor, social commentary type stuff. i guess that is why they don't think seinfeld is very funny. all i thought about the last year was how nice it would be able to relax, train and play ball. be careful what you wish for i guess because now i'm restless. i've been reading alot to fill the time, in the last two weeks i've banged off biographies on rasputin and arthur conan doyle and i'm currently finishing one on sigmund freud. you can guess what section of the library i've been stuck in. the biography channel would be proud of me. I would be happy to have a sliver of the motivation that those gentleman had.

With so much downtime, your exotic accent and surplus of charm, I'm surprised we haven't heard stories of women looking past your looks ("He's got a great personality, though") and getting freaky with the Red Bag... what's up with that? Or has the Unicorn gored too deep? ...
Holla!
