dethroning queens
on sunday we played against queens in belfast. we won 99-84. we didn't play great but we did enough to win. they had a really nice gym but the floor was a rubber compound. we fastbreaked effectively and cut our turnovers down a lot from the previous games. i ended up with 33 pts and 9 reb and had a stretch where i scored 14 straight points for us. i moved really well without the ball that game and got the ball in good spots. i only missed one shot all game and the one that i did miss i got my own rebound and converted. i didn't go to the free throw line once all game...it was crazy. i can honestly say that i HATE referees. they were so blatantly calling the game the other way that i was losing my mind. guys on the other team, were amazed as well. the ball would bounce off their guy's feet out of bounds 3 ft from the ref and they would call it the other way. i got a technical for yelling and doing an incredible hulk flex to the ref and shoulda had 2 but they gave the other one to another player by accident. i think i had a scowl on my face most of the game, guys on our bench said i was running down court and just staring down the ref on every dead ball. its great to start feeling good about my ankle and being able to run and jump again. i still don't have very good lateral movement yet. we have a double header next weekend. we play galway (who jay plays for: he said he's gonna give me 30. {ohh for real?}) on sat night then we gotta go back to belfast on sunday to play at university of ulster. The team that we play in the next round of the cup was at the game scouting us and they video'd the game, so looks like they aint messing around. sam and dra played pretty good as well finishing with 25 and 24 pts respectively. i almost missed part of the game; i got off the 3 hr bus ride from dublin, cabbed to the arena to meet the rest of my team and walked in and they were already warming up because the game got moved up 3 hours. i walked into the arena like jordan with my suit on...real professional like. i really feel that look, coming to a game. dress like a pro, act like a pro, play like a pro. when i get back to 100%..... its a wrap.
