miceail's misadventures

How many roads must a man walk down, before you call him a man? How many seas must the white dove sail, before she sleeps in the sand? The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind

damn it feels good

this weekend was everything that weekends should be. on saturday i travelled down to limerick with the girls team to watch them play. they won their cup game by 12. claudia balled out having 31pts and 18 reb. she was all over the stat sheet. jr is their coach and he is our 2 guard. he's a funny dude; they had an american pg and she played like a dude, walking with a swagger, crossing people over bombing threes. to start the game he decided to play a box and 1 on their team even though his girls had never practiced it. the other team turned the ball over on their first 4 possessions and their coach calls a timeout. he turns to me with a straight face and says "i'm like pat riley in this muthafucker" i was rolling on the bench laughing.

we got back and had a few drinks with the girls, then i had to go to the other side of the bar and work. i was giving the hookup all night behind the bar, the night was soo damn busy, i got up to the club around 12 and it was busy like i hadn't seen before, usually its ebb and flow but we served with 5 bartenders at my bar steady till 2:30 and it was so cramped with stock because we ran out of 6 types of beer and 3 types of alcohol. the till me and another dude were running pulled in over 10,000 euro. at close there was a mountain of glasses and empties on our bar mayhem. closing was gonna take forever and i had a lil lady waiting for me downtstairs i went to the manager and told him we had a big cup game tommorow and got to leave early, no cleanup...so i was straight. i broke my no sex the night before a game rule 3 times in the 12 hours before the game. restraint is over-rated

the game was hype, we didn't have the greatest turnout for it though which was disappointing. we started off hot i got a 3 pt play off the tipoff and we went up 12-5. we were really looking like a squad for the first q. coach started doing some bad substitutions as guys got in foul trouble. they started hitting 3's from all over. they had this lithuanian dude who was killing us from outside. we were down by 12 and closed the second quarter strong and tied it up at the break. in the third q our new big guy amir lost his mind and picked up 3 fouls in about 3 min and fouled out, the last of which involved him picking up the dude who was guarding him and throwing him to the floor....pure stupidity. in the fourth we pulled away once their big man fouled out.

the other team had a dude from new york who was 6'7 and about 250lbs. this guy was a genetic freak. he was jack ripped and had about a 40' vertical. i learned that pretty quick. i was guarding him in the first q and he had me in the post 1 on 1 and he leaned and then spun off me baseline and tookoff, i turned and his waist was at my face. dra came in and blocked and fouled him saving me some shame. the dude had a real nice put back dunk as well. that game was awesome to playing in because it was so back and forth and so tense. the crowd was crazy because they got so loud then so quiet as the game went back and forth. i had a couple hot behind the back passes and reverse layups. i got a foul on their big boy on an and1 reverse and threw in a lil antoine walker shimmy. me and sam had a 2 on 1 with 3 min left and i dropped a dope lil behind the back but he missed the layup. four of our starters had 20 or more. i had 21, sam had 27, dra had 20, and jr had 22. we were pretty balanced all night. the new guy somehow had a donut, he just never really was that involved and played only about 20 min because of fouls. we all went out and enjoyed open bar after, i don't remember how i got home among other things.

its a great feeling going into the break with that win. we now move to the semifinals which are in dublin on january 21, i'm hyped and its gonna be awesome to be a part of, i've never really been on a team that i believe in like this. now we have 3 weeks off. ima get the ankle back to 100%. i'm thinking of heading dublin later in the week, then i'm off to london on the 19th for about a week over xmas to stay with niamhy then we're going to spain for a week and new years. My parents are coming to europe in january for around a month as well. it'll be great to play in front of them at the semi's in dublin. i'm sitting on a good thing right now and it makes up for a lot of the bullshit that i've gone through in the last year
