miceail's misadventures

How many roads must a man walk down, before you call him a man? How many seas must the white dove sail, before she sleeps in the sand? The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind

doing the damn thing

we had the best game of the year so far against sligo on sat night. we won 121-109 and it was really the first time all season where we really clicked as a team. everyone played well. we had the best crowd of the year at home and it was a really boisterous atmosphere as it was essentially a derby game. the last time we played sligo was in the cup finals when they beat us by four so it was nice to exact so revenge on them.

their point guard d.j. foster just got back from detroit, he had to go home as his mother was in a hit and run accident, and she passed away in the hospital while he was there..... RIP. i didn't know what to say to the guy. i really felt for the dude and had a lot of problems putting myself in his shoes and wondering how i would deal with something like that. it was really admirable how he handled everything involving the game. he dedicated the game to the memory of his mother and he put up 61 against us. i've never seen anyone play like that in person. he musta hit about 16- 3pters he was absolutely on fire. we had guys all over him and he hit some amazing shots. he is truly a great player.

don't sleep on the falcons though. we came to play. i had the best game of my young career, scored 30 had 16 rebounds, no fouls, several blocks steals and assists. i shot really well, hitting 4 threes. i took my game to the outside where i feel more comfortable as my natural position and played off screens and pop outs and got in the rythm. i was really happy with how the game went. dra and sam each had 34 as well and we even got good production from the other irish dudes as well. we made a concerted effort to play more physical with sligo and to offensively pull the game outside of the middle that they clog so well. the refs finally came around and called a fair game. me and dra hooked up on a nice alle oop and sam kept up his new found focus on passing.

we are now tied with sligo in the loss column in the league table but they still have 4 games to play, but they own the tiebreaker between the two of us. we need them to drop one of their last games to take first place in the league. we finish the reg season on sat night against castlebar at home, then its wait and see.

i've really been coming around of late, all the work i've been putting in my game is showing. i feel i've been able to focus mentally a little bit more with fewer distractions. i've had 59pts and 30 reb my last 2 games. its a good feeling to be getting my confidence and game where it should be as we enter the playoffs, peaking at just the right time.
