miceail's misadventures

How many roads must a man walk down, before you call him a man? How many seas must the white dove sail, before she sleeps in the sand? The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind

genesis

i made a trip down south to carrick on suir in county tipperary where my uncle paddy and aunt bride live. this is the town that my dad was born and raised in. i haven't been there in over ten years so alot of my memories of it were hazy. my grandpa was a pharmacist and he started a chemist shop there decades ago. it has been kept in the family since then with my uncle paddy running it now and most probably one of his sons eventually will take it over. above the shop is a residence where my dad was born and raised with his 7 brothers and sisters. it currently isn't being used but i got let in to see it. it was a weird feeling being in the house that your dad grew up in, wondering where his room was, where his favorite hiding spaces were, where he would sit at the dinner table...stuff like that.

my uncle took me on a bit of a tour of the town, i went to mass, got some golfing in, he took me to my grandparents grave site.

this is a mass rock. during the time of english persecution and rule, they restricted and outlawed religion, so the people would go into the woods to say mass. they would carve out a flat surface on a rock in order to use as an altar
