miceail's misadventures

How many roads must a man walk down, before you call him a man? How many seas must the white dove sail, before she sleeps in the sand? The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind

we head to germany on friday for an exhibition tourney with some teams down there. one of which is a team that sam(played with in ireland) currently plays with. we are going to a place in central germany called wolfenbuttel. we are gonna have a 7 hr drive on the team bus to get there that i am looking forward to like skin cancer. we stay for a couple nights and play 3 games in 2 days. leaving friday, back sunday night so not much time for sightseeing or socializing. i think the girls team is coming down and playing some games as well. the place is southeast of hannover, denoted by the purple box with the number 1 in it. denmark southern tip is basically at the top of the map above hamburg. too bad it wasn't during oktoberfest or i'd be pre-ordering my stein and bratwurst. never been to germany before. martin's people better treat me right. hopefully i get to see some castles and drink some beer. modest goals. i thank the german SS for uncovering the terrorist plot before i come down, i don't need anymore scars on my body besides the dogbite. just another reason to distance myself from americans
the other import from the female team(ashley) arrived earlier this week. she is from arkansas, just graduated from john brown university(i'm pretty sure run dmc references it in a lyric in the song "down with the king"). i looked this school up and its a christian institution. they make you sign this document before every semester, a code of behavior, basically agreeing that you won't drink, smoke, do drugs, swear, be gay, have sex, hold hands with the opposite sex, go to church, watch south park.... stuff like that. i was thinking greaaaat.... here comes the born again express. religious intolerance at an all time high with me and these people. luckily(for her) she isn't and had to sign it as part of her scholarship that she accepted to go there. she told me that in the dorm rooms there they had to keep the doors open at a 45 degree angle or greater whenever they had a guy in the room with them. i told her the same policy applies here... team rules. she is nice enough but needs a serious dose of adaptation, this girl is out here getting her hair done and tanning within 1 day of arriving. and lets just say "women be shopping". our bathroom went from having some stuff in it to having more lotions, potions and pills than hogwart's or at the very least a medieval druid's home.

we have been having alot of team meetings lately. everything from going over goals, our role in the club, q & a, expectations, to how to work the laundry machine. i'm kinda just ready to settle into a routine more than anything else. our season schedule is finalized and i have a pretty good break over xmas(4.5 weeks) and am undecided what i'm gonna be doing. temporary plans are for alissa to come over to europe and for us to hole up on some beach in the greek islands. i've only been away from her for 3 weeks but sometimes it feels like 3 months. i can't imagine what couples did in the old days before technology. i got messenger, skype and webcams to interact with her but it still doesn't replace being there with her. i tagged the back of my shoes with something that reminds me of her when i'm ballin... miss you baby...
