DRIVER
anytime you roll to a different country the roads are an adventure. kinda like chevy chase in a national lampoon movie. the obvious things like knowing the rule differences and what the signs mean and the language that is written on them are not so important (i operate on a strict ignorance is bliss mentality). now i don't mean to generalize... but i notice things:
england: wrong side; red buses black cabs
ireland: polish people, drunk people
spain: scooters and hand talkers
russia: vodka for windshield fluid, lada's
mexico: messed up turn lanes, no seatbelts or general safety and dirty cops
germany: no speed limit, exit is aushfahrt(c'mon... ass fart. that is the best they could come up with?)
europe: no automatics, plain license plates
kelowna: old people, snowflake
vancouver: asians
asia: asians
the world: women(sorry but c'est vrai) and the unwritten book of the road
some of these teams i coach force me to drive them on away games. the pros and the cons of driving in denmark:

some of these teams i coach force me to drive them on away games. the pros and the cons of driving in denmark:
PROS
- its a small country, you can only go off track so far before you realize you've made a mistake
- alot of bicycles(less cars)
- most times they have roundabouts instead of traffic lights so during the day there is better flow
- before a light turns green from red, both red and yellow light up... like daytona...letting you get better rolling starts
- everyone drives small cars so you generally don't get stuck behind vehicles you can't see in front of. in fact, i am generally that vehicle.
- i don't pay to drive(gas is about one and a half times more expensive, insurance same)
- they generally take pretty good care of their roads. danes are more used to travelling by viking longboats
- there isn't alot of police presence, roadblocks, traffic stops, speed traps. they would try to convince you otherwise perhaps but not the same as back home
- its in kilometers not moron miles
- no rednecks drunk driving trucks with nascar stickers. no semis driven by mr galikanokous
CONS
- you can't turn right at an intersection on a red light(makes no sense)
- everything is 2 lanes damn near. i miss the open roads, wide shoulders. if you are passing here, its into oncoming traffic.
- more bicycles(if this was grand theft auto i would be taking out six or seven every block)
- i drive the team bus(might as well be snowflake) no cd player. terrible radio stations
- i will generally stall at least once
- speed limits are low(fair enough... lots of laneways and houses on the roads) but they never really sign it well, you never know when you can resume speed again leaving towns and cities.
- rumble strips down the middle lines, people don't stray from their lane too much
- i don't understand the signs and don't know where i'm going.... probably 83% of the time
