miceail's misadventures

How many roads must a man walk down, before you call him a man? How many seas must the white dove sail, before she sleeps in the sand? The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind

iron dishwasher

Paul tried to warn me before i came...... danish food can't even be categorized as a cuisine. When a guy from england tells you food from somewhere else is bad.... you better listen!!! to tell you the truth northern european food is disappointing like that guy who won a million in the lotto but was on parole and was barred from buying lotto tickets at the time. i just can't get down with most of these dishes. i feel like i'm taking an evel knievel-esque risk each time like "is this even cooked?"..... corrie describes it best as "slop". he has boycotted it all together. think an eighties or early nineties high school movie and the inevitable scene in the cafeteria where the fat lady spoons out the gruel onto the tray that inevitably ends up dumped on some nerd's head. that not doing it for you? if we were in jail we would not be protecting this food. you want it?... go ahead... sucker.

i'm amazed heart disease aint more prevalent. these people rock alot of fatty meat, porks, grisles, unlean(i know its not a word) beef, and other boiled animals i can't decipher after a few seconds of prodding and turning. its like CSI; i'm breaking down the evidence to solve the meal. everything is shrouded in a sauce, more often than not creamy and runny. can i get some oyster sauce? hot sauce? plum sauce? bbq? ..... anything to influx some flavor?... thats a negative. half the time i can't even buy the stuff i like here. selection is limited like a texan's paradigm.

the crazy thing is that they get really proud of these so called "traditional danish" dishes. they try to hype you up on how good it is and then watch as a look of disappointment settles on your face. at first i tried to humor and agree that it was good, now i just say nothing. how could someone go to a restaurant and not feel like they are getting ripped off??

from a nutritional point of view it is passable i suppose. they do eat alot of vegetables, albeit with a lack of creativity or foreign influence. lots of carbs and fatty meat though, how many meals can you incorporate hotdogs into? they eat buns, cheese and jam with thin chocolate wafers for breakfast. maybe its just a case of them not knowing that tasty and delicious food does exist in the world yet they haven't broadened their taste bud horizons as yet to incorporate the good from the global buffet.
RIP those who don't know what you are missin...
