weekend game

so sitting at 3-3, we host a team called Hobas this weekend. i don't really know much about them, except that they are in first place in the standings right now. apparently they are a team that has been together for many years, they are older and experienced players from basketliga and around europe. although they are favored by eight points, hopefully we can turn the corner and start to string some wins together against the top teams and vault ourselves into contention for league title, as we face a tough stretch over the next 4 games.

i feel confident that we can pull together, especially as guys start to get comfortable with their roles in offence. identifying offensive roles within a team is really important, especially in close games. knowing which guys to get the ball to and where to get it to them where they feel comfortable is paramount. its when guys step outside that and try to do more than they are accustomed/capable of is when turnovers, bad misses and in the end... losses occur. sure you may be able to slip by lesser teams but when you face tougher opponents, your weaknesses are magnified and each possession becomes that much more important.

we've had a good week of practice so far though, corrie looks like he's starting to get his swagger going, the young guys have been busting their ass and really looking better, more confident and powerful with the ball. endre is a little banged up with his leg but he should be ok by saturday night. we had a team meeting monday, ironed some things out and all got on the same page about a few issues. so now its time to get that W...
