miceail's misadventures

How many roads must a man walk down, before you call him a man? How many seas must the white dove sail, before she sleeps in the sand? The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind

first runner up

had the mens league provincial bball tourney this past weekend. so much for an offseason! rejoined ranks with the former team for playoffs on wednesday, got a lil used to the new guys on the team then we started tourney play on friday night. we played in the A division, most of the team were ones i've played against before either in the vancouver or kelowna leagues.

had adrian down from van, terrance, andje, pratch and shriek... so there were alot of familiar faces. we rolled on friday by about 20 playing arkansas ball, short subs, high intensity, 1 through 9 we were a pretty solid group. nice to play with a cerebral group again. kicked it at O'Neills 30th with the fellas that night, which was like steppin back in time. something tragic about watching len drink sangria.... he loves it though

saturday was a closer game till banman caught fire and bombed 4 threes on 4 straight possesions. dude can straight up shoot like william tell. KBC glory: chillin in the sunshine, bbq'in and final four action, tellin ourselves not to self-destruct in the finals by getting faded on the sat night like we had in so many previous tourney's.

Played molten in the final. a real tight first half, defensive battle. i struggled to get going early against their active interior. the pushed a double digit lead till about 4 min left when we closed hard, getting stops, pushing the tempo knocking down 3's. i stole it at half and sank a pullup 3 from the top of the circle with 40 sec left to close it to a three point game but we just couldn't get em to miss free throws down the stretch, coming up short in a 5 pt loss.

was nice to play back in canada, a more physical and intense style, back with your boys. i found myself having to adjust against more athletic shotblockers. tough to lose in any final. got a tourney all-star but would rather have the ch'ip.
